• the anonymous Cook on board Racundra, clearly understood to be Evgenia Shelepina, Ransome's future wife, in Racundra's First Cruise
• M Braithwaite, nearly always called cook, at Beckfoot
• The member of a ship's crew responsible for food and stores, often also the ship's mate, especially Susan Walker but also Peggy Blackett, Bill etc
• Cook, a member of Tom Dudgeon's family's household
